How do I figure out the cost of disposables? This figure is from a 2 1/2 year period or 130 weeks. Consider a baby is changed every 2 to 3 hours and a toddler is changed every 3 to 4 hours, I averaged about 70 diapers a week. The total of diaper changes come to 9,100. The average cost of one disposable diaper in Florida is $0.24, per week it would cost $16.80. The total cost of disposable diapers: $16.80 per week x 130 weeks per diapering period is $2184.00
